We have a fantastic choice of all things leather – including Handbags, Purses, Wallets, Briefcases, Luggage, Gloves, Sheepskin Mittens, Slippers (in leather and sheepskin), Mens Bags, Folios, Wash Bags, Key Holders, Belts and much more! We also have a large selection of non-leather bags by Healthy Back Bag and Kipling.

History

Cox's Leather Shop was established in 1921 by William Cox (my Grandfathers uncle) in the historic City of York. Initially the shop was called 'Cox of Northampton' as William had moved from that area. He was a shoe repairer by trade and repaired the good people of York's boots and shoes. The business moved into larger premises in Shambles, where initially the only display area for shoe polish was the mantel piece over the fireplace!

Grandad Percy Nutt (right) along with his wife Annie managed a large team of repairers and even offered a delivery and collection service with the shop bike. Over the years our range of goods and services has changed, until the 1960's the company still specialised in shoe and leather repairs, but when my father joined the business we began to diversify into the sale of leather goods, slippers and later leather and sheepskin clothing.

We are now an online leather goods retailer with an extensive range of specially selected products. We aim to offer an exceptional customer service experience, with a personal touch in an online world.
