Founded in Florence, Italy in 1969 the Il Ponte Pelleteria company created 'The Bridge' brand in 1975 to cater to the luxury leather goods market.
With a blend of traditional and modern manufacturing skills employed, The Bridge create leather goods which are not only functional but beautifully constructed. The use of locally sourced full hide leathers which are tanned using a vegetable tanning process, ensures a soft, supple leather which is not only luxurious to the touch but has a glowing sheen hard to mimic with chemical tanning processes.
Only the best quality threads are used for stitching in The Bridge products. The threads, which are sourced from suppliers in Germany, are acknowledged to be not only good looking but have unsurpassed anti-break properties - a problem sometimes seen with less well constructed leather items.
The Bridge now employ over 70 people producing quality, affordable leather products including briefcases, bags and accessories in a state-of-the-art facility in the Scandicci industrial district in Tuscany. Here The Bridge oversee the whole process from cutting the leather, to assembly in its workshops, as well as the offices and quality control facilities right through to dispatch to its retailers , enabling them to ensure your purchase will last for years to come.
